Singular: Luxya
The Luxyas are a fierce and proud race. They are not as ancient as some; rather, they are newcomers to the land. But they are proud, not of their heritage, but of their powers and skills.
They are not the fastest runners, although not slow either, but their reflexes are like lightning. They are reasonably strong and incredibly agile.
What sets them apart, though, is not this ability. They are the Sons and Daughters of Flame, or so they like to call themselves. They cannot be harmed by fire or heat of any kind, and they control fire magic as though they were born wielding it- in fact, they have. Most also have the natures of fire; they tend to be brave to the point of reckless; hot-tempered, warm-hearted friends and fierce enemies.
They each have unique markings in shades of red and yellow. The markings, according to the Luxyas' myth, tell the story in signs, symbols, and omens of the Luxya's destiny.
Luxya Stats
General Height Range: 80cm - 120 cm
General Weight Range: 30-45kg (children), 40-60kg (adults)
Breeding: Luxya mostly mate for life, but will occasionally separate if the two parents argue a lot. Any children that are still with the parents upon separation will generally go with the mother. When they do fall in love, it is a slow process, they will never simply fall in love on sight.
Luxya can hybridize with other humanoids, but only humanoids.
Colours: Fur is usually brown in almost any shade, from darkest mahogany to creamy light shades; however, the Luxya will be covered in fur either of one uniform shade or two shades, one lighter and one darker- they never have markings or patterns in the brown colours. Each has unique markings in red and yellow, occasionally also orange. Markings in the shapes of flames or fire are especially prized. Very rarely, you will get a Luxya with a deep russety fur colour; these are rare and valued by their clan/tribe/group/pack.
Eye Colours: Usually, flame colours of red, orange, and yellow- yellow being the most common, then orange, then red. Brown is slightly less common and seen as dull and unattractive. Jewel-like shades such as green and blue are rare, but possible. Occasionally ash grey, though this too is seen as dull and unattractive.
Powers: All Luxya have the power of fire (pyrokinesis). Other common powers are power over smoke, the power to create light, the power to heat things up without necessarily setting them on fire (the power of heat). Some, less commonly, have weak telekinesis, super speed/strength, and telepathic communication abilities. Very rarely will other powers be present in a Luxya. They will never have powers such as hydrokinesis (control of water) or power over ice, cold, snow, the ocean, and suchlike.
Lifespan: 30-40yrs. They are treated as young children from the ages of 0-7, teenagers from 7-16, and adults from the age of 16 and up. They cannot breed until they are 16.
Creating a Luxya: You may create a Luxya absolutely free, there is no need to ask, nor is there a charge or number cap. However, please don't everybody create Luxyas with traits and qualities described as rare; only one or two people should make these, so that they actually are rare and not just this page saying they are rare. Keep to the powers, colourings etc which are listed; don't stray too far from the race's description.
